Pine nuts contain a source of fibre, they are also high in potassium, magnesium, zinc and iron. The Vitamin E in pine nuts contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Magnesium contributes to normal muscle function, the maintenance of normal bones and a reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Additionally, Magnesium helps contribute to a normal energy-yielding metabolism.
Ways to use
- Blend up with basil, olive oil, garlic and parmesan (or a vegetarian or vegan substitute) to make a tasty, classic pesto
- Get creative in the kitchen and bake up some delicious raspberry and pine nut bars or a honey and pine nut tart
